“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” cast interview part 1 (video)

I had the opportunity to visit the set of one of my favorite shows on television: the sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” which shoots on the Fox lot. A group of us observed the shooting of a very funny scene in Paddy’s pub (I wish I could tell you the premise, but I can’t reveal any spoilers), toured the set and interviewed the cast.

I shot the interview with my trusty Flipcam, and plan to show you at least one more clip in which they talk more about the writing process. Keep in mind that  Glenn Howerton (“Dennis,” in the center) and Rob McElhenney (“Mac,” on the far right, mostly offscreen) are also the show’s creators and head writers. It also helps to know that McElhenney is married to Kaitlin Olson (“Dee” on the right).

Some of the topics covered in the clip below:

  • Will Dee get knocked up again?
  • The Jersey Shore
  • Mac’s weight gain and beard and the smells associated with them
  • Appearance by the “Jackass” cast and how Danny Devito wanted to stick a cactus up their ass
  • The price of shards of glass
  • The “real” plot of Pretty Woman
  • 2012 (The Apocalypse)
  • Child beauty pageants

Warning: language NSFW

From Left to Right: Danny Devito, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson, Rob McElhenney.

Good Luck and Happy Writing!
