Whether it is covering movie and television premieres on the red carpet in Hollywood or shooting my own How-To screenwriting videos, I always enjoy uploading clips to my Story Maps YouTube channel.
The goal of every video is to figure out what makes a GREAT SCREENPLAY.
I started with a DIY video series named “Dan’s 2-Minute Screenwriting School,” kept short and sweet, because hey, you should be writing, anyway, right? Those grainy videos look pretty dated, now, but at the time, they were the absolute cutting-edge (not really). I’ve also started making some of my audio podcasts into video clips.
My mantra is CRAFT = CAREER. The most crucial, best, and only first step in forging a screenwriting career is to develop and master your craft. If you can do that, you have the best chance at reaching professional success as a screenwriter. My methodology and advice is based on reading hundreds of screenplays on the job as a Senior Story Analyst for major movie companies and by working with hundreds of writers like you.
I hope you enjoy these clips, and if you subscribe on YouTube, you will be notified when I produce a new video.
Good Luck and Happy Writing,
Here are some of my own playlists for your enjoyment…
