Alice in Wonderland and Toy Story 3 scripts available?
Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just offering a link to a public website.
I’m not advocating the downloading, uploading or sharing of screenplay files!
As most of you know, the major studios run campaigns to promote their films for Oscar consideration, i.e., they want the members of the Academy to vote for their movie so it will get that coveted nomination or win that pays off in more bucks and higher prestige.Nowadays, they post all of the press materials for a film on their websites, including (in some cases) the screenplays in pdf form.
These scripts are available to the public as they are posted on a public website.
Their intention looks like it is to be used only by Academy members (and press?) but there is no password protection and there is no disclaimer posted (from what I can see). Nothing is explained; it’s all just…there.
In past years, a fledgling screenwriter wouldn’t have thought twice about downloading these “Oscar” scripts, to use them as a learning tool, but this year there’s been some lawsuits over hosting script files, most recently this one over a site that was posting the Black List scripts.
So I leave it up to you. Here’s the link and you can do with it what you will.
I suggest you just look at the pretty pictures.
